Grand Opening!! - On Tuesday, September 2nd and throughout the fall, please be in prayer for the headmaster, teachers, students and school board as we open our doors. After 3 years of planning it is time to practically commence with our vision to build a legacy of Christian leaders. The headmaster and teachers completed teacher in service week, working 15-20 hour days getting prepared for the 1st year of SCCA. We have been blessed by God with talented, passionate, and committed teachers. The classrooms look great and the children look cute in their uniforms.
Meet the Teacher Ice Cream Social- On Friday August 29th Parents of SCCA and their children enjoyed fellowship and Ice cream with the children's teachers. They also saw for the first time the classrooms for their children.
New SCCA staff & curriculum- SCCA is pleased to announce that we will be offering a music and physical education program for all students starting this fall. Mrs. Faith Henriquez will teach Music and Mr. Steven Dilday will teach physical education. Both have extensive training in the respective subjects and more so are very familiar with the classical pedagogy. They will be applying the trivium as they teach their respective subjects. The feature article this month elaborates on the place of the Arts in Classical Education.
Fundraising - As SCCA opens the school year we are financially sound. However, we have projected some unexpected expenses for school materials that we need, such as shelves, furniture, computers, etc. In addition, because we added the Music and Physical Education classes, this has created additional expenses for materials and compensation. Overall we need approximately $5000 to adequately cover these costs for the school year as we seek to offer the highest quality education possible.

Job Openings: Currently SCCA is looking for a part time or full time secretary to assist the headmaster during school hours. If you are interested and would like further details please submit your resume and cover letter to jobs@stratfordcca.org
Future news: SCCA will be releasing its 2003-2004 school calendar in about 2 weeks. We will have several events such as Parent Nights, Open Houses, and Fine Desserts for prospective parents to learn about SCCA. This information will be forthcoming in a future newsletter.
