From the Mayor's Newsletter, Fall 2001
Dear Friends and Neighbors, We have promised to keep you abreast of any new developments
regarding the potential sale of the shopping center at the corner of Longwood Drive and
Warwick Road. As of this writing the present owner has entered into a contingent agreement
of sale. The contingency is that the purchaser must receive whatever approvals they need
to meet the Borough ordinances within six months or the agreement becomes null and void.
We have not received any formal application to the Planning or Zoning Boards. I expect
that we will receive something within the next month or so. Whatever the purchaser may
apply for will have to he discussed at an OPEN PUBLIC HEARING. Some totally false and
unsubstantiated rumors have been circulating around town with regard to the future use of
the site. We will not know what is proposed for this site until a formal application is
received. To repeat, whatever is proposed will be thoroughly aired at the appropriate
public hearing.
