Every year, the Stratford Athletic Organization sponsors teams in every age group from AA to Majors. The same core group of players got together in 1997 as the 9-year-old Tournament Team from Stratford. The teams initially play other teams from surrounding towns for the District IV title. Win the District title and it's a trip to the State Championship. This tournament brings together the best of the best in the State of New Jersey. Then it's a trip to the Regionals, in which this team participated in 1997, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The Regional Tournament brings together kids of the same age from up and down the East Coast

This original core-group of players were the District IV Champions in 1997 (9-yr old), 1998 (10-yr old) and 1999 (11-yr old), as well as the State Champions in 1997.

In this coming season of 2000, as 12-year-olds, we hope to have continued success!

The team plans to go to Cooperstown, New York, home of the Professional Baseball Hall of Fame, in August of 2000 and play at the Cooperstown Dreams Park against teams from all over the country. What a great experience this will be for them.

Unfortunately, because there are Tournament teams from several age groups, the Stratford Athletic Organization cannot help finance this trip.
